On March 19, Zsuzsanna Szelényi, Director of the CEU Democracy Institute Leadership Academy, presented her book on Viktor Orbán and the state of Hungarian democracy (Tainted Democracy: Viktor Orbán and the Subversion of Hungary) in a conversation with Péter Techet and Veronika Kövesdi.

The discussion focused on why liberal democracy failed to establish itself in Hungary in the 1990s and what a new beginning might look like after the possible end of the Orbán regime.
