Exchange with Alexander Schneidmesser

On 25 March, the IDM hosted an exchange with Alexander Schneidmesser, who is a project manager at the Claims Conference and a researcher at the Research Institute for the History of Transformations in Vienna. Since 1951, the Claims Conference has been working internationally to address Nazi crimes, support Holocaust survivors and promote educational initiatives in remembrance culture. The meeting offered the opportunity to learn more about Schneidmesser’s remembrance and educational work, with a particular focus on the remembrance of the Shoah in the Danube Region. Together, we identified shared interests and potential collaborative projects aimed at educating people and promoting remembrance about the Shoah in the region.
