12 - 26 July 2007: Cities in Conflict - Urban Strategies in Central Europe

A two-week programme designed for young sociologists, urban planners, historians and art historians from Poland and other Central and East European countries is organised jointly with the Institut für den Donauraum und Mitteleuropa. Students will work under the guidance of experts from Austria, Poland and Ukraine. Using the examples of selected cities – Vienna, Krakow and Lviv – they will attempt to analyse the issue of the city as an arena of conflicts: heritage – development; historism – modernity; locality – universality; function – form.
