Webinar for the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada: Rethinking EU Enlargement in a Citizen-Driven Approach
On 11 December, Sophia Beiter presented the research results of her project “A Comparative Approach to Different Models of EU Integration: How to Achieve a Citizen-Based and Reformed EU Enlargement Strategy?” in a webinar for the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She outlined ideas for reforming the EU enlargement process, with a particular focus on the role of citizens, their expectations, and ways to strengthen citizen involvement, drawing on findings from a survey and workshops.
The lecture was part of an ongoing cooperation between IDM and the Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada, including webinars by Sebastian Schäffer on EU enlargement and by Gabriel Lentner from the University of Continuing Education Krems on different chapters of the EU acquis.
