21st DRC Summer School “EU36: Imagining Europe’s Future”

This year’s DRC Summer School took place from 26 July to 1 August at the OTH Regensburg, Germany, under the theme “EU36: Imagining Europe’s Future”.

The title set the frame for two intertwined thematic corridors: imagining what Europe could look like in 2036, and exploring the chances and challenges of an EU with 36 member states. The dynamics of EU enlargement and its broader implications ran through every topic of the week, which were organised around four key areas: Geopolitics and International Relations, Economy and Transformation, Democracy and Disinformation, Migration and Demography.

Bringing together experts from diverse academic backgrounds as well as 14 participants from nine different countries, the Summer School created space for a genuine exchange of perspectives and opinions on what Europe’s future could look like.
