IDM delegation in Berlin
Sebastian Schäffer and Malwina Talik visited Berlin earlier this week.
We began our visit with Café Kyiv, a conference on the future of Ukraine. As a cooperation partner the IDM organized there the discussion “A New Eastern Partnership? The Role of the Weimar Triangle in Ukraine’s European Integration and Security” which was attended by more than 100 people.
The following day, we met with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland (Magdalena Zielińska), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Dimo Böhme), and Stiftung Genshagen (Martin Koopmann, Theresia Töglhofer) to discuss key challenges and cooperation in Europe, the potential of the Weimar Triangle, and Germany’s role in shaping Europe’s security architecture.
Additionally, we visited the Karlshorst Museum (Christoph Meißner), which provided an opportunity to discuss the politics of memory, its representation in museums, and the new challenges that have emerged since Russia’s war on Ukraine—particularly after the full-scale invasion.
On the final day of our visit, we held meetings at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia (Ambassador Gordan Bakota, Ivan Marić) and DGAP (Stefan Meister), where we discussed current developments in Central Europe and the Danube Region, EU enlargement, and support for Ukraine.
Vielen Dank! Дякую! Hvala!
