Talik’s paper in Fragile Europe – Defending Democracy in an Age of Interference

Alongside other experts, Malwina Talik contributed to the recent publication by the European Liberal Forum and Projekt Polska, Fragile Europe – Defending Democracy in an Age of InterferenceThe publication gathers analyses and case studies demonstrating how interference has evolved: from propaganda networks and dark money to AI-driven manipulation, diaspora influence, sports diplomacy and ideological infiltration at the extremes of the political spectrum.

In her paper, she analysed how social conservatism and moral panic have been instrumentalised by foreign actors to delegitimise institutions and fragment civic trust. She traced the ‘anti-gender’ movement from its roots in the 1990s to contemporary FIMI dynamics, including transnational campaigns and money flows against liberal values.
