In April 2026, Hungary will hold parliamentary elections that are widely seen as a decisive moment for the country’s political future. After more than a decade of democratic backsliding under Viktor Orbán’s government, the upcoming vote raises fundamental questions about democracy, rule of law, and political change in Hungary.
