On 17 September 2025, the IDM took part in an online exchange with Bankwatch, a network of grassroots, environmental and human rights organisations in 14 countries across Central and Eastern Europe. Bankwatch monitors international financial institutions, campaigning to ensure that public funds support people and the environment. Their five campaign areas cover fossil fuels, human rights, biodiversity, renewables and cities.

In our exchange, we discussed both successes achieved and ongoing challenges as well as significant trends such as new technologies and critical raw materials. The IDM academic team was joined by strategic area leaders Fidanka Bacheva-McGrath, Ioana Ciută and Branka Španiček.
