Research assistant Elena Marko presented her article Zwischen Kampf und Care: Revolutionäre Frauen im Film at the launch of the fourth issue of the feminist film magazine Totale. The article analyses the portrayal of revolutionary women fighters – ranging from partisans in Yugoslavia to women involved in postcolonial struggles – exploring how this depiction can range from the reproduction of traditional gender roles and instrumentalisation to serving as genuine symbols of equality and emancipation.
