IDM TRAINING OFFER
The promotion of young talent and their further training has been of particular importance in the context of all IDM activities for many years. Together with various international partners, the IDM has already organized 15 DRC Summer Schools on regional cooperation, 23 summer schools in Bulgaria, 6 conferences for young researchers (Young Scholars Forum) and numerous advanced training seminars for teachers in Vienna and Lower Austria.
IDM Summer Schools
Every summer, the IDM offers programs for students and young scientists from Austria and from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Since 2016, a summer school for students from China has also been held as part of the Munich International Summer University (MISU).
TEACHER TRAINING
From 2006 to 2009, the IDM organized further training seminars on region-specific topics and current issues for teachers at secondary schools on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture (BMUKK). Since 2010, the teacher training seminars have been held in cooperation with the Institute for Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna (NIG) and the Church University of Education Vienna/Krems (KPH).
