The Role of Migration and Diaspora in the Political and Socio-Economic Reform and EU Integration Processes in South East Europe

This volume is part of the project “Role of Migration and Diaspora on the Political and Socio-Economic Reform and EU Integration Processes in South East Europe” coordinated by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and supported by the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices (ASO). For this project the IDM could obtain experts from Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Macedonia from different fields, providing a comprehensive and differentiated approach to the complex and controversial linkages between migration, diaspora and political and socio-economic developments in South East Europe.

These contributions of the researchers involved in the project and the most important project results were presented and discussed at the conference which took place on March 17th, 2009 in Vienna.

With contributions from Andreas BREINBAUER, Ivan DAMJANOVSKI, Naim DEDUSHAJ, Ilir GEDESHI, Gejsi PLAKU, Nikolina SRETENOVA, Drenka VUKOVIC.
