Democracy Workshop Albania about to start

Since 2020, the IDM (supported by ERSTE Stiftung) has served as the Austrian Parliament’s implementing partner to establish Democracy Workshops in Albania and in North Macedonia.

Recently, another milestone has been reached in Albania. In the week of 23-27 January 2023, the assessment centre for the selection of a team of trainers took place in Tirana facilitated by the Albanian NGO ARSIS, the IDM and the Albanian and the Austrian Parliament.

The four selected candidates will now have the honor of conducting the workshops at the Albanian Parliament according to the Austrian model of the Democracy Workshop with its well-known high standards.

The Secretary General of the Albanian Parliament saw for himself during the first workshops that the Democracy Workshop in Albania enables democracy education and empowerment for young people. The premises provided for the Democracy Workshop Albania are easily accessible; they now have child-friendly furniture and the necessary IT equipment to hold several workshops per week for interested school classes.
